- Gower Granary’s range of animal feed and bedding is grown and made on our Gower family farm, so by buying 'local' you can reduce the impact of trucking product in from further afield, or even abroad.
- Gower Granary’s range is always packaged in fully recyclable packaging and used packaging is recycled by a local recycling firm.
- Gower Granary is a small family business which farms responsibly on lush Gower pastures, with the aim of building soil structure and developing biodiversity.
- Gower Granary’s bedding straw range is made from straw - a sustainable by-product of growing cereals. And after cropping the cereals, the stubble is left intact to help limit soil erosion and improve soil quality, and to encourage birds to overwinter.
- Gower Granary’s bedding straw is a natural by-product which degrades well and so helps improve soil quality and supply nutrients wherever it is spread back to land.
- Gower Granary grows grass for hay and haylage as a crop on a 5 year rotation, which leaves nutrients in the soil and allows soil organisms to thrive, and creates natural fertility for the following crop. Also, by sowing traditional herb-rich leys, we are further increasing the farm’s biodiversity.
