GG sponsors Beacons Equestrian

Beacons Equestrian, one of Wales’ premier equestrian venues, is the first equine centre to be sponsored by Gower Granary, the family-run South Wales business which produces premium dust-extracted chopped straw bedding and haylage.

Nestled at the foot of the Black Mountains, Beacons Equestrian has grown from humble beginnings into a respected hub for riders at all levels. With state-of-the-art facilities, the centre offers an exceptional environment for competitions and training. Now, through its new partnership with Gower Granary, it is proudly promoting local, sustainable products that prioritise equine welfare.

“Supporting a forward-thinking Welsh equestrian business like Gower Granary is a natural fit for us,” says Penny Jenner of Beacons Equestrian. “Their dust-extracted bedding and nutritious forage support horse health while aligning with our own values of quality, welfare and sustainability.”

Founded just three years ago on a coastal farm in Gower, Gower Granary has quickly gained recognition for its commitment to producing quality equine bedding and forage using sustainable, British-grown crops. Its double-dusted chopped straw bedding offers a dust-free, cost-effective alternative to wood shavings, while its hay chops and haylage are grown on herb-rich pastures which support soil health and biodiversity.

Farmer and Managing Director Chris Harry Thomas says: “We’re thrilled to support Beacons Equestrian as one of our sponsored centres. Its commitment to excellence in the equestrian community mirrors our own. Whether it’s a grassroots rider or a national competitor, we want to support the health and comfort of horses with top-quality products made right here in Wales. We look forward to meeting riders and showing them our range this summer at various Beacons Equestrian events, the first one being the British Dressage and Unaffiliated Dressage on July 9th."

The partnership will see Beacons Equestrian using and showcasing Gower Granary’s bedding and forage, helping more riders discover the benefits of choosing local, natural products. The collaboration also highlights the shared ethos of the two businesses – prioritising horse welfare, reducing environmental impact, and championing local farming.

Gower Granary’s range is available direct and through local independent stockists across Wales and England.
